Road Captain's Course

It doesn't matter if you are an experienced rider or new to motorcycling, learing good group riding techniques can enhance your group riding experience.  These techniques are best learned by taking a Road Captain's Course from a certified instructor.  But, while you are patiently waiting for a course to be scheduled, you can still learn (or review) by checking out GWRRA's Road Captain Manual.  Have fun and ride safely.

Motorcycle Safety Inspection (T-Clock)

Performing your daily bike inspection (or T-CLOCK) is a must!  But why is T-Clock important?  It is a reminder to check over different parts of your motorcycle before each ride for safety. This memory jogging acronym stands for related items. T=Tires & Wheels; C=Controls & Cables; L=Lights & Electrics; O=Oil & Fluids; C=Chassis & Suspension and K=Kickstand.

A mechanical failure only needs to happen once to leave you stranded or worse, cause you to lose control of your bike.  You need to be lucky every time you get on and ride your bike without performing an inspection.  Don’t trust your luck!  I know it can be bothersome some times; it’s cold, wet, dark, and even hot. We can always find an excuse to skip our daily inspection. But, we need to try to develop the habit of performing this very important task.  Remember, riding safe starts with a safe machine.

Use the link below to download the T-CLOCK inspection worksheet.  It could save you and your loved ones a lot of pain!

The more you know the better (and Safer) it gets.
